About The Project
Modernising an established event website to handle scale and speed
The previous Black Clash website was outdated, slow, and couldn’t reliably handle the massive traffic spikes during ticket releases or event announcements. At the same time, the site didn’t reflect the event’s growth into an established, modern sporting spectacle. The challenge was to create a fun, design-forward platform that could hero sponsors while still delivering a seamless, reliable experience for fans — all within a tight deadline.
A bold, family-friendly site with strong performance under pressure
We kicked off with a thorough UX process, presenting three homepage design options before refining the chosen direction into a full site design. The look and feel leaned slightly masculine to match the sports crossover, but remained family-friendly and exciting to reflect the event’s broad appeal.
