About The Project

A surf-inspired brand with sharp professional edges

When High Tide Electrical approached us, they were starting fresh—with big plans. The goal? A brand identity that captured the founder’s relaxed, surfer energy while still appealing to a high-end clientele. Think clean, modern, and reliable, but with just enough edge to stand out in a saturated trade market. We were brought on to develop a logo and brand guidelines that delivered that balance—easy-going but serious about quality.

Cool guy branding that doesn’t blend in

The client came in with strong visual inspiration—one that mirrored a local competitor a little too closely. The challenge was to honour the vibe he loved while creating something entirely his own. Working within a tight start-up budget, we compressed our process while staying true to a collaborative strategy. The result was a completely unique visual identity with a flexible, surf-meets-professional look and feel.

The logo system is versatile across print and digital, with a wave-inspired icon that doubles as a nod to electrical currents. The coastal colour palette—deep blues, sun-baked yellows, and earthy tones—feels both fresh and grounded. And our guidelines left space for creative freedom, mirroring the evolving, expressive energy of surf brands.
