About The Project

A brand without a brief

The Play Agency came to us after seeing work we had done for one of their own clients. Impressed by what they saw, they wanted a site of their own. The challenge was significant from the outset: they had no existing branding or colour palette to work from.

Budget and timeline constraints meant a formal brand discovery wasn’t on the table, so visual identity had to be established through moodboarding and refinement during the design phase itself. The goal was a website that felt fun and energetic enough to reflect their entertainment offering, while remaining professional and easy to navigate for corporate and wedding clients.

An evolving site built for a growing business

We have been building on this site since it launched around four years ago. The original work followed our standard process: gathering copy, wireframing, then moving into design and development. As The Play Agency has grown and added new offerings, including prop and backdrop hire, the site has grown with them.

A recent web audit informed a round of improvements aligned with how much web technology has advanced since the original build, with updates being rolled out in a staggered approach as the client prioritises them.

The latest standout addition is a custom mega navigation, introduced to accommodate an expanding services menu.
The result is a design-first website that continues to improve, catering to a broad audience across corporate, brand, private, wedding, and event styling markets throughout Australia.
